Conservatives would like to re-instate: child labor; 60-70 hour work weeks; sweatshops

Conservatives would like to abolish: minimum wage; oversight for food or drug additives; worksite safety regulations (The Bush Dept of Labor gutted the requirements for emergency breathing equipment in coal mines. Several miners died in recent accidents because the emergency equipment was insufficient or non-existent); Overtime requirements….

Karl Rove has said repeatedly that he would like to go back to the pre-Progressive era, when conditions like I’ve just described were the norm. Is that what we want for our children?
