Hillary Clinton for Secretary of State

From Reuters…

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Sen. Hillary Clinton, who lost to Barack Obama in the Democratic presidential primary, is being considered to serve as secretary of state in the Obama administration, NBC News reported on Thursday.

I was noting that Senator Clinton had not been mentioned lately in speculation on the Obama cabinet. She would be outstanding in this role. She’s a gifted politician with unique experience, and she carries huge good will internationally. Bill Clinton is a rock star in many parts of the world.

It was a rough campaign, but that’s politics. Senator Clinton deserves recognition for her contribution to equality and we deserve to have her in her best capacity.

  1. She is technically qualified forthe position.I’ve never liked her because I alwys thought she was power mad.Secretary of State is a position where she is definitely subordinate to the President and cannot be the potential “friendly fire” gadfly should could be as a Senator. This could be a very astute defusing of a powerful rival by Obama. And yet it looks like a promotion.I think maybe Obama read Machiavelli in between all those law books.

  2. And What about Sarah Palins contribution to equality?
    Condeleza Rice?

    oops i forgot,they dont count

    .

  3. Sarah Palin has a concerning record of mixing church and state. Condoleeza Rice held in her hands a memo titled ‘Bin Laden Determined to Strike in the United States’ when she was National Security Advisor and did not succeed in getting the President to be proactive.
    Yes they count.
There is no generic female in politics. Half the population is badly underrepresented, and it’s good to see more women in power. I’m happy to vote for a woman, but if I don’t like her politics I won’t vote on a gender basis.
Tell me what you like politically about Sarah Palin.

  4. Clinton is terribly pro war. The idea of her as Secretary of State really bothers me.
