Lieberman Quits the Democrats

Driving the route 44 corridor through the Quiet Corner of Connecticut yesterday, I counted a dozen or so Ned Lamont signs, but not a single Lieberman sign. Nevertheless, I was skeptical of blog predictions that Lieberman would abandon his party and try to run as an Independent.

Well, it’s true.

Ned Lamont is worth $60 million between $90 million and $300 million dollars, so he’s not exactly your rank and file average guy. However, he supports some important issues, including net neutrality. You can learn more about Lamont here.

  2. Anyone know how this works? Does he still caucus with the Dems if he wins? Didn’t Jeffords decide to caucus with the Dems after he bolted the Repubs?

Of course, if he thinks he wouldn’t win the Dem primary, there probably isn’t much chance he’ll win the general election, is there? Isn’t he too far to the right for most CT Repubs?
