I had a feeling this was the case, but now science can back up my hunch. Vegetarians like David have higher IQ’s. The rest of us meat-eaters can’t really think too good.

Are you green with envy, Kiersten? Does that smart?
Seriously, I’ve been a vegetarian (ovo-lacto) since I was 18 years old. My Jewish grandmother used to refer to such as “that crazy diet.” I don’t think she ever forgave me for turning my back on her chicken soup. Nonetheless, I believe that my decision to forgo animal flesh has stood me in good stead. And, while I cannot assert that it has boosted my IQ, I will note that my SAT scores (pre-vegetarianism) were considerably lower than my GRE scores (post vegetarianism). So who knows?
you develop your hunter-gatherer skills looking for some fast food that you can eat on the road.
Sorry, David. My GRE scores were higher than my SAT scores, and I didn’t forego meat in the interim.
Now, so that doesn’t just sound snarky (which isn’t the intent), I will add a couple of things. In hunter-gatherer societies, about 80% of the protein is obtained through the gathering. Macho hunters aren’t as important as the (predominantly, but not exclusively) female gatherers. As a consequence, one finds that h/g societies are often matrilineal, rather than patriarchal.
And, ironically, in the Middle Ages, the peasants actually ate “better” (in the sense of more nurtitiously) than the nobles exactly because the peasants didn’t have constant access to meat.
