Cranston City Council Appeals DEM Permit

The Cranston City Council has taken some decisive action in support of the residents of Ward 2 who are concerned about the many environmental hazards posed by the Cullion Concrete plant. From Frank Mattiucci, President of Cranston Citizens for Responsible Zoning and Development:

Good news! Councilman Emilio Navarro reports that the City Council has filed appeals with DEM and Superior Court objecting to the DEM permit for Cullion Concrete. CCRZ&D applauds this action by the City and pledges to support our Council and Mayor in their efforts to oppose DEM in this matter. It is hard to believe that DEM has compromised its position as environmental steward and sided with a potential polluter to thwart the efforts of those who seek to protect the Pawtuxet from industrial exploitation.

Keep up those letters to DEM. Let them know that the Pawtuxet runs through Cranston and that we will not sit by and watch the DEM allow another polluter to add to the filth that has spoiled this river for generations.
