Advice to Prostitutes From the Kama Sutra

I have no idea what Eliot Spitzer was thinking when he decided to break his own laws and pay thousands of dollars to rent a young woman’s body. Did he think she was secretly attracted to him, that she was doing this because old guys who pay for sex are irresistible? Was he wanting something so depraved that no woman would do it for free? Maybe it’s better not to turn that rock over.

In any case, things turned out very badly for him. He was paying for discretion and ended up with notoriety. Now he’ll have to take a long vacation somewhere while the new governor gets going with the business of running the state. (Since Spitzer was know for being arrogant and abrasive, and David Paterson seems like a nice guy, the state might be better off.) Wherever Spitzer is hiding, it must be a torment to see Ashley Alexandra Dupre on the cover of the New York tabloids. Meanwhile, Spitzer doesn’t even have enough cred left to protect his wife from Dr. Vulture Laura.

Any decent person involved in this mess would want to pull a hoodie over their face and sneak away to Albania for a couple of years, so it’s lucky for Ashley that decency isn’t a problem. Eliot Spitzer had enough power and money to buy anything, and he did. Now Ashley has her chance. She has a narrow window of opportunity to make money off this scandal. Already Britney and Paris are grabbing the headlines. Didn’t Britney used to be some kind of singer? Ashley has ambitions as well…

Ashley Alexandra Dupre already has banked up to $200,000 in profits from the sex scandal, thanks to curious people who have downloaded her pop songs on the Internet.

More than 300,000 people have listened to Dupre’s music on the Web site AmieStreet.com since her name emerged as the prostitute at the center of the Eliot Spitzer sex scandal.

I kind of hope she has a good financial manager, or else is a musical genius who has finally been discovered and is now on the path to blazing stardom in something other than porn…

Hustler Publisher Larry Flynt told the AP Friday that he had e-mailed Dupre, offering her $1 million to pose nude for his magazine. He said he hadn’t heard back.

“It will be something that will very tastefully done,” Flynt said of the proposed photo spread, but he added that Dupre would have to appear completely naked and not just topless.

“Hustler readers don’t like to compromise,” he said. “They want the whole enchilada.”

Yes, you can always depend on Larry Flynt for good taste.

This begins to resemble cannibalism. First Eliot Spitzer was the user, now Ashley Dupre has a chance to cash in on the ruin of a john’s political career.

If you buy into the ‘Pretty Woman’, heart of gold myth, you might think she should have mercy. But you’d be wrong. The ancient wisdom of the Kama Sutra tells us what prostitution is all about.

First it’s about money, then it’s about money. Lastly, it’s about money.

‘The duty of a courtesan consists in forming connections with suitable men after due and full consideration, and attaching the person with whom she is united to herself; in obtaining wealth from the person who is attached to her, and then dismissing him after she has taken away all his possessions.’

And when the money’s gone, she dumps him like a movie star dumps the wife who loved him when he was nobody.

Now when a courtesan finds that her lover’s disposition towards her is changing, she should get possession of all his best things before he becomes aware of her intentions, and allow a supposed creditor to take them away forcibly from her in satisfaction of some pretended debt. After this, if the lover is rich, and has always behaved well towards her, she should ever treat him with respect; but if he is poor and destitute, she should get rid of him as if she had never been acquainted with him in any way before.

The means of getting rid of a lover are as follows:

Describing the habits and vices of the lover as disagreeable and censurable, with the sneer of the lip, and the stamp of the foot.
Speaking on a subject with which he is not acquainted.
Showing no admiration for his learning, and passing a censure upon it.
Putting down his pride.
Seeking the company of men who are superior to him in learning and wisdom.
Showing a disregard for him on all occasions.
Censuring men possessed of the same faults as her lover.
Expressing dissatisfaction at the ways and means of enjoyment used by him.
Not giving him her mouth to kiss…

This goes on for about a page. Outing the guy to his political enemies is not included, but I’m sure the Kama Sutra would recommend making a buck when the opportunity presents.

‘A courtesan leading in this manner the life of a wife is not troubled with too many lovers, and yet obtains abundance of wealth.’
