We had aMoveon.org advocacy training today, held at Church of the Ascension. We used training materials from Wellstone Action to strategize best ways to do congressional advocacy.

President-Elect Obama will need support as he tries to make real reforms in Washington, so it’s up to us to be the driving force behind change. It was wonderful meeting many new faces and voices in the Rhode Island community today, and I look forward to continuing our work.

The follow-up action for this training will be on Wednesday, January 14th, when we will be visiting Senator Reed’s office to discuss the Obama stimulus plan. Reed, as a Senate leader with many years experience, has the clout to be a champion of an economic plan that will set our country on a better future course.
