Skewing the Neilsens

After a lifetime of suffering the television tyranny of all my favorite shows being canceled I have a chance to get even. Now I’ve got the power. We are a Neilsen Family.

In a few short weeks I will receive a diary in the mail, and whatever I’m watching will make or break careers in Hollywood and New York. Unfortunately I don’t watch TV, because like I said, all my favorite shows were canceled.

But I think the woman on the phone said we could count DVD’s. That’s all we watch on our #2 TV because we never got a converter box. I don’t know what the rest of my family will do with their diaries, but mine will look something like this…

07:00 Weather Channel
19:00 Firefly-The Train Job
20:00 Firefly-Bushwhacked
21:00 Firefly-Ariel
22:00 Serenity
24:00 Watching internet trailers for No.1 Ladies Detective Agency

Once upon a time cable TV was supposed to be commercial-free. Then it took commercials so it could be cheap. Now it’s expensive with more commercials than content. The thrill is gone. I’d rather play with the net.
