Access to treatment is one great advance in fighting this terrible epidemic. Access to prevention is ongoing. A cure is still a distant hope.

One way to fight the spread of this disease is through human rights, because it thrives where people can’t get education or medical care, where women have no social protection and poverty forces desperate choices.

Justice and equality for women is one front in the fight against this scourge on the human race.
