Check This Out

I have long been a fan of Aaron Sorkin, who is best known for his work as the creator and writer for the television series, The West Wing. Sorkin has a new show on the air, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, which was a little slow getting out of the gate but has seemed to improve with each new episode, showing the great heart and soul one has come to expect from a Sorkin project. The most recent episode, “The Christmas Show,” was Sorkin at his finest—incorporating multiple plot lines, including the plight of musicians from New Orleans who were displaced by Hurricane Katrina. This particular episode will air again on Monday, December 18, at 10:00 p.m. on NBC and would be well worth watching. Also, for a sample of the music on the show, NBC is offering a free download (here) of O Holy Night, as performed by the great trumpet player, Troy Andrews, and other New Orleans musicians. Happy holidays!
