With Sympathy

A member of the Providence progressive community who is known and loved by many has suffered a loss. Nomi from ‘I Dreamed I Saw Grace P. Last Night’ sent me an email that Phil Edmond’s mother died this week after a long illness.

If you know Phil, you will want to give him your sympathy. Here are the details of the service:

Thursday (5/15) 6-8 PM Wake at Gallogly & Sons, 671 Broad St., Providence, a block south of St. Joe’s Hospital; Funeral (Friday) 10 AM at St. Augustine’s, 639 Mt. Pleasant Ave. (almost where Mt. Pleasant Ave. and Smith St. meet)Providence.

There’s a prayer in the First Unitarian Church that goes something like this–

To love knowing that your whole life depends on it, and when the time comes to let it go — let it go. Blessed be, Phil.

  1. Nancy,
thank you for posting this. My heart is with Phil and his family. His sister died not that long ago…

Happily, if you do a search for Phil, lovely photos of his group, The Gnomes, appear. Although some people call me “gnome” (also k-nome and nom and nome), I am unrelated to this group…
