Now it Can be Told

Now it’s common knowledge that Arianna Huffington sold her blog, the Huffington Post, to AOL for $315M. I feel at this time I can reveal that AOL approached Kmareka first.

I will not disclose how much they offered us, just to say it was in the low 10 figures. Dollars, I mean. Decimal points not included.

I can’t say we weren’t tempted, and the constant begging and stream of gifts got our notice– we’re only human.

In the end, we felt that we would not be able to guarantee our readers the high level of journalistic integrity they have come to expect. We sent AOL away, and they settled for their second choice.

Our writing remains priceless.

  1. It was tough holding out on AOL, but I’m glad we did. Whew! Still waiting on that offer I can’t refuse.

    1. If the HuffPo, as an AOL outlet, continues to add more and more celebrity gossip, we’ll become the front-running progressive blog.
When I win the megabucks we’ll hire some reporters.

    1. I think you are all great people to hold out against such a mighty (and dubious) corporate giant.

It’s also a pity to see the Huffpost dumbing down its presentation.
