Sign the Petition to Support Teachers in Providence

Go here to sign a petition demanding that the new Mayor of Providence, Angel Taveras, stop the unfair labor practice of terminating all Providence teachers. The petition states:

We demand a reversal of the dismissal of Providence teachers. Students deserve stable schools where teachers are not punished for a fiscal crisis they didn’t create. Teachers deserve to be treated with respect for their commitment and hard work.

Here is another link to the petition.

  1. I just saw Bob Kerr’s column about the teacher firings. It’s a bad start to what was going to be a difficult adjustment at best.
I hope that the Mayor will do now what he should have done first– talk to the teachers and parents.

    1. You don’t get it,do you,Nancy?
Taveras speaks only to those he considers within his comfort zone.
I don’t sign petitions(except for the two railroaded Border Patrolmen),but I hope Taveras is forced to accord the teachers due process.
BTW Nancy-I’m still really pissed at you about the “higher bar” thing regarding my claim not to be a racist.
I don’t mind hating people, but it sure has to be for a better reason than what they were when they came out of their mothers.
You want to put me to some test?Don’t offer what maybe you couldn’t handle yourself.
Actually,I WAS tested on this(physically)when I was in the service.
It wound up a bloody mess.

  2. I’m still hawking up phlegm, so I’m not as patient as I usually am with being talked down to.
I would have responded to what you said about race, but it’s all I can do to get through the day.
I think that ‘I am not a racist’ is a beginning. Undoing racism in its subtle manifestations is the work of a lifetime. It’s easy to recognize it when it comes at you in a white hood, but we all know that sometimes it’s the small things that cut deep, and people in the minority suffer small cuts to their dignity all the time.
It took me a long time to understand why it bothered my husband so much when people would look at both of us and talk to me, not him. I’m better mannered now because of making the effort to stand by him.
Recently, someone showed a lack of bias and ignored us both. I left the place and told him I understand better how it feels.
Today brown is the new black. However you feel about immigration, keep an eye out for people who want to ride the issue into their own hateful agenda.

    1. I’ve been hawking up phlegm all my life,so you have my sympathies-I have the worst sinuses in the world and I don’t even smoke.
Now,this absolute crap about “brown” is the new black has nothing to do with immigration.
Immigration is about the rule of law and national security.
Why should I keep MY eye out for hateful agendas?
Louis Farrakhan just(again)compared Jews to agenmts of Satan.
Nancy Green acts like it never came out of his mouth.
In your world, racists are all white people.
My wife and I encountered some of what you say,but we didn’t piss ourselves over it.
If someone wants to be hateful,I guess I won’t invite them over for tea or whatever.
      And I don’t talk down-I talk AT.
      Sorry if it bothers you.
“Klaus” has brought talking down to an art,but since he seems to be a househusband with a home office I pay him no mind, except that it’s funny when he sputters impotently and shovels BS by the ton.
Unlike you,I’m not out to save the world from racism, poverty, war,or anything else.I try to treat people fairly, but I can’t always.and I’ve been treated unfairly enough times to start whining if it were in my nature.
If you think having open borders and letting anyone in the world decide if they want to live, work,or commit crimes here is common sense, then you’re really being foolish.
I know in your heart you’re an open borders advocate-why not just say so?
Maybe you could tell that to “Heather” who was raped by Marco Riz.Maybe in your little world she had it coming because he was only a deprived “minority”.See where this can go?You have such selective outrage.

      1. Actually,I don’t think you’d believe “Heather”had it coming, but it was so preventable and yet the crime occured because “progressives”have made immigration enforcement such anathema in Providence and some other places.Being a “minority”is not an excuse for criminality, period.

  3. I’m also too tired and congested to put up with having words put in my mouth.
But if you want to set up a paper target and argue with it, go ahead.

  4. “Klaus”needs to go on Youtube and search for a video of French police dragging away pregnant women and babies from a peaceful sit-in being staged by illegal aliens there.
Anyone on my job who pulled that would have been indicted, and rightfully so.
So “klaus”-please stop talking up European culture as so superior.
