I definitely don’t want to harsh on anyone’s mellow about Obamacare, but this is the part that worries me: the bad debt that hospitals are going to take on. This issue is going to have to be reconciled somehow.

I used to walk people through applying for Community Free Care at RI Hospital. I hope that more people insured will ease the strain, but hospitals have been carrying the burden of preventable disease and poverty for many years and it will not turn around fast.
