  1. Kiersten,
Thanks for posting the update. As stated at the community meeting, the webmaster for the Cranston PD is a 3rd shift officer who volunteers which apparently is why the updates aren’t done in a timely manner.

  2. What’s even more frightening is a website called which is NOT updated as often as it should. This is the website that most folks confer to monitor their neighborhoods. A friend of mine is a realtor that put this on her website because so many parents querry on the safety of neighborhoods now.

It has been 2 years since I last spoke to the webmaster for this site and they claim that our State Registry doesn’t update them and it’s their responsibility. She said that some states do this 2 times a day with updates and they follow their lead.

So, the real question is why? I haven’t heard from the Attorney General, nor the Parole Board which governs the laws our police to follow ~ so, while our police department might not have the best system in this regard, it is a State guideline and they are doing only what is mandated. Although, I might add that Chief McGrath has been OUTSTANDING in this regard for several years and his intense commitment to our Police has been reflected by being nationally recognized for a highly ranking Station. This should not go without recognition in light of the “unpopular vote” union vote he has recently received.

The point, let’s force the STATE to be better at doing due diligence and protecting us.

  3. I’ve been telling people about the issue at Harrington Hall, as have my wife and friends. I have to say I’m flabbergasted and more than frustrated by some of the responses we’ve gotten. Some people just don’t see why this is a problem.

I will be passing out flyers and photos of the offenders living at Harrington Hall. I will also be including an article about an incident that occurred in New Bedford last year. A level three sex offender named Corey Saunders had been living at a homeless shelter for two weeks before he raped a 6-year-old boy in the main public library. The perp had lured the boy to an area between book shelves. His mother was only 10 feet away working on a computer while this pig raped this poor kid.

This perp was convicted in 4/09 of rape of a child, indecent assault and battery on a child, enticing a child and threats to commit a crime.

And the state just keeps sending new sex offenders to the shelter.
