Re-elect David Cicilline

Just one reason to vote for Congressman Cicilline…

The Supreme Court recently ruled that the Affordable Care Act is the law of the land. But tomorrow, House Republicans will vote yet again to repeal health care reform. Speaker Boehner has said that health care reform needs to be “ripped out by its roots” and Mitt Romney has vowed to overturn it “day one” if he is elected. David’s Republican opponent is marching in lock step with party leadership, saying that health care reform needs to be repealed and that he would vote to do so.

Repealing health care would mean that insurance companies can continue to deny coverage based on preexisting conditions, that millions of seniors will the see costs of their prescription drugs go up, that many women will still be charged more than men for the same coverage, that young people under the age of 26 will no longer be able to get insurance under their parents’ plans and that insurance companies keep imposing lifetime coverage caps on people with chronic conditions.

And from Karina Wood…

David is an intelligent, skilled and tenacious legislator, who is fighting to defend women’s reproductive rights and equal pay for equal work, he sponsored the Made in America bill to create new manufacturing jobs in RI, he’s working to pass the Buffett Rule for fair taxation and a bill to prevent former members of Congress from becoming lobbyists, and much more. He has consistently stood up for gun control when most politicians have been too cowardly to oppose the NRA. I’m voting for David on Tuesday, and I hope those of you who can will vote for him too. The stakes are far too high not to.

  1. Is it worth rolling in the gutter with a slimy weasel liar like David Cicilline?Brendan has already demonstrated his independence when he resigned from the RISP rather than submit to wrong headed directives from the dunce of a governor we are cursed with.I don’t think he’d roll over for the extreme right and guess what? It’s almost certain the Republicans are keeping the House,so Doherty’s vote on leadership won’t be decisive anyway.Maybe you feel comfortable with a dishonest creep in office “representing”you-I wouldn’t.

  2. Each one teach one: everybody today please remind at least one other person to vote. Put it on your Facebook, add it to all conversations!

And good luck to Elizabeth Warren.

  3. That’s great advice if the machines aren’t “broken”as seems to be happening all over District 1.I had no problem voting in District 2 but it looks like Cicilline has his minions at work already.I don’t believe Mollis should have attended a rally for Cicilline right before the election-it sure gives the appearance of something wrong.
    Good luck to Scott Brown.

  4. My bad-I noticed now Karina is voting-she became a citizen.NOW she has a basis to complain about our laws, but her gun control mantra isn’t even popular with a lot of liberals any more.I bet there will be a lot more people against dictatorial gun control like they have in NY and NJ after this horrible spate of post Sandy looting and terrorizing of neighborhoods by hoodlums.
BTW Karina-I arrested a good number of firearms violators(almost all drug related) who David was all too happy to represent to put some more lucre in his grubby little fist.He wasn’t working for legal aid at the time-he CHOSE his clients.
