Obama is the Antichrist–What Else is New?

CrooksAndLiars says that a heckler screamed, ‘Obama you are the Antichrist’ as the president spoke at a fundraising event in Los Angeles.

To a former Pentecostal, like this writer, the heckler’s outburst is unsurprising. It would be shocking if the extreme Christian right did not declare Obama to be the Antichrist. I’m not a Biblical scholar, but I’ve read my Revelations, and I have a pretty good idea how it works.

A lot of people are upset because Obama won the election. They might conclude that it happened because more people voted for him, but that’s too simple. It makes more sense that this is a sign of the End Times. The evidence is indisputable.

When Obama had soaring approval ratings, his political success was proof he had superpowers. When he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize that confirmed it, because the Antichrist will bring world peace. When he escalated the war in Afghanistan, that was more proof, because the Antichrist starts wars. And his current low approval is because we’re a Christian nation, and Obama is the Antichrist. See how it works?

Unfortunately, there’s quite a lot of competition for the title. If you include the undead, the dark throne is going to look like a game of musical chairs. I listed some contenders in my previous post,

Antichrist Hall of Fame…

In rough chronological order…

John F. Kennedy Some fear that he was up to something when he got himself assassinated.

Jimmy Carter He promoted peace in the Middle East, when we all know that nuclear war is in God’s plan.

Ronald Reagan Supernaturally charming–at least to some people, it was lost on me.

Mikhail Gorbachev He had that funny mark on his forehead, although if he used Rogaine it probably wouldn’t have showed.

Bill Clinton Nobody we knew voted for him and he won anyway.

Vladimir Putin He’s Russian. And he was able to fool President Bush with his soulful gaze.

George W. Bush Took 666 vacation days in his first 4 years.

John Paul II He was a Catholic. And he lived in Rome.

Pope Benedict He lives in Rome too.

John Mc Cain Saw that funny photo of him sticking out his tongue.

You can see it’s a crowded field. President Obama has a lot on his plate, trying to get his jobs bill passed, and was probably more focused on raising campaign money than on putting the Mark of the Beast on the dollar bill.

But you can’t be too careful. The state of Virginia considered legislation to protect citizens from The Mark, and all the unholy nurses and doctors waiting to implant it– I’m not kidding, the link is here.

  1. “Antichrist” is absurd of course (whatever the heckler thought the term meant). However, this President, and this administration, compared to the history of the nation and the office is certainly a disaster by any measure. Of course, Mr. Obama brought few credentials to the office to begin with, so there should be no surprise at the horrid performance. There is simply no experiential or intellectual snese of governing within the Obama ego. I have no sense of the record of Millard Fillmore, and only the Carter term in office offers a modern comparison for ineffectual and very poor leadership skills or accomplishments, but one suspects that the damage cased by this administration to the national health, far exceeds the damages of Mr. Carter. It is not likely that Mr. Obama will step aside for the good of the nation and his own party, and allow Ms Clinton, perhaps, to fill the breach. Mr. Obama will certainly lose the election. The despair he has created, and the sense of failure of his administration is palpable.

  2. My family directly benefits from the health care reform mandate that children can stay on family insurance up to age 26. This has kept 1,000,000 young adults insured. Eliminating the ‘pre-existing condition exclusion’ might have saved Ron Paul’s campaign manager from premature death if it had been mandated under George Bush.
My problem with health care reform is that it is too slow and too modest, but I hope it’s a beginning.

  3. Everything has a price; insurance for children to age 26 is bizarre on its face (and I have 8 kids!). The adden dollar burden increases the cost of insurance, depleting dollars that could have been spent, and would have created more jobs with benefits, for the 26 year-olds dependent on parents. Why stop at 26; 30 years old is just as logical. Why stop at 30; 35 is just as logical. In the end, the result is huge cost increases to the people paying and a spiral of increasing costs by the people charging for the service, be it insurance or medical care in a doctor’s office. There is no valid reason for the “entitlement” mentality except that of a shift in what we beilve government should be about and what its limitations should be.

    1. Actually it’s a really smart move. The family plan insurance is paid by families and employers, and this age group is generally healthy and makes fewer claims. What they get is access to health care as they leave college and get established in a job with benefits. I agree that it’s logical for everyone to have coverage. It would especially benefit small business and entrepreneurs. I see a ‘trickle down’ benefit to my generation from the Medicare that keeps our parents safe from financial disaster– and even with benefits it’s not cheap to get sick.

  4. The numbers in Raygun’s full name were all 6; for a 666 line-up!

  5. I believe Carter was by far worse than Obama because while I think Obama’s aims were very bad for this country,he didn’t get to implement his vision of “change”.
Carter came to the job with much more experience and history of accomplishment-no comparison at all.
    Carter then managed to
(a)initiate the chain of events that has only gotten worse over the years regarding our relationship with Iran
(b)intruded into the Russian invasion of Afghanistan,a situation where we had no legitimate interests, resulting in the rise of the Mujahdeen/Taliban movement
(c)transform the immigration from a manageable one to a chaotic mess that has defied every attempt to deal with it in a constructive way
There were more-the giveaway of the Panama Canal and the abandonment of Taiwan
Let’s not forget the squandering of the Sadat-Begin negotiations-Carter was out of his league with those two former terrorists and they knew it.
Every President since has been playing pick up sticks with mittens trying to contend with what Carter visited on us.
    That includes Obama.

    1. oops-meant “immigration situation”
